Summer Fayre and Car Display
Primary tabs
First run in 2014, when we were asked by charity Motor Neuron Disease Association, East Sussex to provide a venue for an open garden fund raising event. The site was ideal for the charity volunteers to put on their attractions with ample level parking available.
Fund raising was the motivation, and as both Cathy and I have motoring interests we believed that a display of interesting vehicles would be an additional draw for the public.
We cast our net wide amongst our motoring contacts and friends in Brighton and Hove Motor Club. The result was nearly 60 entries, including veteran, vintage and classic cars. We had cars from every decade from the 1900s to date. There were cars, bikes, commercials and modern performance cars, a number with pedigrees and historic value.
This will be our second show , run on similar lines. It is uncompetitive, more of a social gathering of enthusiasts providing an extra attraction for the public. We hope that entrants will also enjoy the Fayre. There will be refreshments, cream teas. many stalls and games. We are delighted to announce the return of the fabulous band, HowlinBlues. Anyone here in 2014 would agree they are something special and we are so fortunate to have their support.
