The Sherrards are at it again! This time it's the missus! Harry tells us: Lorraine’s first motorsport
trophy! We came third in the Club Off Road Europe Randonné in Kent. A
Randonné combines navigation, off road driving (with some quite extreme
sections in the Kent forests), problem solving and clue finding. Great
fun. Well done Lorraine.
Member Harry Sherrard and his family put on a fantastic BBQ and vehicles event in the field beside his house on the evening of Thursday 25th of July. What a great success it was. Over 50 vehicles attended and varied from a Green Goddess fire engine to a Imsa/group C type Mazda engined race car to a motorcycle and sidecar to a MGB! The sun shone down till 9pm and the 4 BBQ's were busy. Everyone had a great night and Harry confirmed it would be repeated. Thanks to Harry for doing it and all for turning up and making it a good night. See pictures on the past events page.
On Sunday 21st of July Amberley Museum had their Classic Car Picnic event. It was very sunny and very well attended. Lots of Sadcases there to show of the club and their cars. See previous events for pictures.
Ford Mustang for sale in the For Sale section.
Stunning Morris Minor for sale in the For Sale section.
An appeal from Sadcase Graham Harmes. email: [email protected] Do we have anyone in the club or does anyone in the club know of someone who is skilled/semi skilled in electronics as I have a fairly straightforward repair needed on my fan speed controller. The replacement components are less than £10 but a replacement unit is £430!! Any guidance would be appreciated.
Tony Hannam tells me there are a few spaces left on the Regis Tap on 1st September 2013. See the what's on page for details.
This years Storrington Village day and Sadcase car show was a bit down on numbers this year due to the bad weather. I had a fleece on and it was the middle of June! But a good day was had by all and a great collection of approx. 70 cars on display. The parade around the show parade ring went well with 25 cars and 2 bikes chosen to strut their stuff and take the applause. Take a look at the past events page for lots of pictures.
Friday 9th August - A bit of fun and some inter club competition. Sadcase and Bognor Motor Club member Tony Hannam has arranged an inter club skittles night at the Spur. Tony say's: I have booked the Spur for skittles evening inter club sadcase and brmc for the 9th August Friday. £11.95 per head including a finger buffet, max people 40 so firm booking with payment or deposit to me asap please. Tony Hannam, 66 felpham way, bognor regis, po22 6qu. 01243 838326 [email protected]
ASadcase member who shall remain nameless (Barry) went to see the Storrington players stage version of Hi-De-Hi and ended up on stage for the nobbly knees contest. He came second. Another Sadcase success!
Sunday 8th September. Sadcase Gary Silver who also runs the Sussex Sports and Classic Car Club (SSCCC) has organised a trip to Birling Gap near Beachy Head http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/birling-gap-and-the-seven-sisters/ on a Sunday afternoon for a cream tea at 3pm. Just over an hours drive by the scenic route. Probably leave the library car park at 1.30. Drop me a mail if you want to come along and I can let Gary know the size of the Sadcase contingent.
Calling all Sadcases! Have you considered a visit to the Stag Inn at Balls Cross near Petworth? It's the most beautiful and unspoilt pub I know of, good beer and great food, (I'm not getting paid for this!) and the owners, Simon and Erika Godsland, will be more than happy to accommodate you and your interesting vehicles. Just turn up or call them to arrange a date. Their number is 01403 820241. Look forward to seeing you all.
It' is nothing to do with your Sadcase but the members might be interested in this thread on Pistonheads, entitled " You can't call yourself a classic car enthusiast until..." I read it and laughed, thinking "Been there, done that!"

Member Helen Bentley has sent a message: I am very sadly looking for a good home for our little baby Austin 7 ! We have had it nearly all our married life and it has given our family hours of pleasure - now it needs to move on. It needs lots of TLC and good garage cover! It will definitely INCREASE in price over the years so it should be a good investment too ! Before I put it up for sale I thought I would just let all our friends know FIRST so please get in touch soon if you are interested or know someone! This is a 1934 Box Saloon. It does about 50 miles per hour downhill with the wind behind it ! It cost very little in fuel, no tax, and the special insurance is £40 per year fully comprehensive with return from Europe - if you should need it!!! It is in very good order and runs beautifully. Offers over £7k
Member Dennis Gibbings is currently selling his Rover car and is removing the ROVER number plate R10 ROV. If any member would like the plate for their Rover or any other car for that matter please contact Dennis. [email protected]Sunday 18th August is Cranleigh Lions massive classic car show. SADCASE HAS A STAND! We want the club to be there in force to show the rest of the southern classic car scene who we are. http://www.cranleighlions.org/classic-car-show.php Jim Sanson is the lead man on this one and he tells us that SADCASE have been allocated initially a 20 vehicle stand at the show. We have already filled that allocation and have now a second batch of 20 to give us 40 cars on show in total. SADCASE owners will need to email Jim [email protected] and he can issue individual passes for them, their car and one passenger FOC , but he will need email addresses of people who want to come on to the SADCASE stand, so he can send them their passes. We really need to make a good showing at the event Important, vehicles must be over 20 years old.
SADCASE Run and visit to Stansted Park and House on Sunday, 13th October 2013. Introduction. Stansted Park and House overlook the coast on the Hampshire – West Sussex border. Stansted began as a hunting lodge in the 11th century, and has seen a succession of interesting owners and many royal and distinguished visitors over the centuries. Since 1983 the House and Estate have been owned by Stansted Park Foundation, a charitable trust charged with the preservation of the estate for the benefit of the nation. The Run and Visit The intention is to leave the Whiteways Cafe Car Park at 10.30 am, then travel to Stansted via a scenic country route arriving approximately at 11.30 am. After parking up there will be an opportunity to partake in a light lunch at the Pavilion Tea Room (It is suggested that groups of 13 or more pre-order from the group booking menu to ensure a smooth and efficient service during lunch). Afterwards, you could explore the extensive grounds, visit the Stansted House Garden Centre, Farm Shop and Studio Pottery; and (weather permitting) have fun in the Stansted Maze and/or travel on the Stansted Park Light Railway. Finally. as a special treat the historic House state rooms, Chapel, and extensive real-life servants’ quarters can be opened especially for SADCASE members provided that there is sufficient interest (minimum 15) and on payment of £8.00 per person fee for the one and half hour guided tour. If this option was to be of interest then it is essential that sufficient places are pre-booked. Book with Chrissie on [email protected]

You have probably all heard of the Tracker systems that are available to protect your cars. Well now there are smaller cheaper versions available that can be run via your mobile phone. A great asset in protecting your pride and joy vehicle. Sadcase Member Alan Manton of HMB Leisure have just taken on a dealership in www.PinPointPal.com that is a simple, effective and inexpensive GPS tracking system that works on a smart phone app straight out of the box. RRP is £175.00 including 2 years service, additional years are only £25/year. He is happy to offer Club Members a discount and provide them for £150.00 including the 2 years service. He is also willing to loan one to anybody who would like to try it for a week. If this is of interest please let Alan know. Alan D Manton 07950 968348
The Hayling Legends car club have a meeting on the first Sunday every month at the Hayling Billy pub in South Hayling Island. A nice little gathering to visit on a nice Sunny Sunday.
Nice MGB GT for sale on the for sale age.

Congratulations to Sadcase member Harry Sherrard who has been awarded the Bognor Regis Motor Clubs award for a non committee member who has done the most for the club in the motor racing season. Harry has also recently completed the Help for Heroes rally and achieved a 2nd in class. Well done Harry we are proud of you.
SADCASE DRIVE IT DAY on Sunday 21st April to Fort Nelson, Portsdown Hill, was organised by Chrissie and Meredith and proved to be a fantastic day out. The day started at 9.00am with a visit to Cripps Garage Storrington to view Jamies collection of old petrol pumps and then continued up at Bury Hill car park where we all gathered for the run. Approx 35 cars of all vintages left at 10.30 for the drive to Portsmouth. Unfortunately Meridith and Jan in their Midget only made about 5 miles before breaking a leaf spring after hitting a pot hole. The rest of us continued on a great 1.5 hour route via the beautiful West Sussex countryside to arrive about 12.00 at the fort. A very interesting place to visit and everyone enjoyed the day out. See separate past events page for pictures.
Member Harry Sherrard has been flying the Sadcase flag by winning the Mini Brittania championship. Harry completed several events that included stage rallying and circuit racing accompanied by his navigator Ivor Heading. Harry is delighted to have won and received the largest trophy of his career so far. Well done Harry.
From now on we will have 2 meetings a month. The 2nd Tuesday will be at the Fountain and the 4th Tuesday will be at the Spur at Slindon (on the road to Fontwell). The move to these new venues is because of the parking problems we now have because of the large membership turnout on club night. Chrissie Brown has organised the Spur evening for anyone that wants to go and in particular the members that live West of Storrington.
ITS AMAZING 450 MEMBERS !!!!
Yes it's true just 44 months after the formation of SADCASE we have our 400th member. The club started on the 1st of November 2009 and In JULY 2013 we received the 450th membership application. Keep spreading the word and maybe we will have 500 members by the 4rd anniversary.
A couple of good services for Sadcase members have come up this week: 1. Member Clive Pluckrose (Honda NSX) works for the RAC and has made a generous offer that helps you, the club and charity. Yes sounds to good to be true. Clive is offering a 15% discount on the advertised on-line price (cheapest) and will give a further small donation to the club for each one sold which we can donate to a charity of our choice. Call Clive on 07503 522945 to arrange your new RAC membership at a great price.
2. Meredith Hutchins has found a Car Lock specialist who can repair car locks, supply keys and fix electronics on doors etc. His name is John Kirk mobile number 07729 322288 he can repair locks and cut keys for any car old or new and reprogram them. He lives in Ford, Nr. Arundel and he has a mobile workshop A very clever man and reasonably priced.
Well the Sadcase Hoe Down party has been and gone and a rip roaring, rooting tooting success it was. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the theme chosen for the evening. Almost everyone arrived at the event in an appropriate cowboy/cowgirl/red indian etc. outfit and spent the evening dancing and eating to the hoe down theme. The bull riding event was very popular at first with others backing out later after seeing some brave souls fall off. (How the arm Jamie?) Meredith had organised the horshoue tossing contest and it was a hotly contested event throughout the evening. Mike G. managed to get 3 of his 6 shoes around the pole and was awarded the best tosser award. The hotel put on a great spread of Hoe Down grub and the then came the Line Dancing. Some great fun learning the moves and the dancefloor seemed busy throughout the session. The bottle Tombola raised £240 for The Mary Howe Trust (Thanks Terry for selling so many tickets) and all rounded off with some dancing to the DJ and a lot of chatting with friends. A great night. As always these events are organised by a few hard working people and I thank them loads for all their hard work. Meredith, Jan, Chrissie, Jim, Judy, Terry and all that helped to organise the event should take a bow! What theme for next year? SADCASE ON ICE? Ideas please. You can see pictures on the HOE DOWN page.
Members Mike and Jane D'Alton holiday in Florida and on the first Saturday of each month the local car meet takes over the high street. Mike thought Sadcase members would like to see some of the cars. A great collection Mike and thanks for sending them in. Pictures can be seen far right on this page. The New Year got off to a flying start with a trip to the Brooklands New Years Day meeting. A shame that a few more members did not support the event but 5 cars turned up on time in the library car park for a 9.00am off! A Honda NSX lead off and showed us a great route to Brooklands with some very interesting back roads. He was followed by a 3 series BMW, a 1950's Morris 6, a Mini Van and my Sunbeam Tiger. Just over an hour and we arrived to find the Brooklands Museum site awash with classics and sportscars. I guess well over 1000 cars managed to sqeeze in and were on display. Stayed for a few hours and enjoyed the show and then off individually to Storrington. A good day was had so thanks to the drivers.
Member Mick Rumsby has a fantastic Porsche 911 Turbo flat nose for sale. Its a 1985 with only 73k miles. See for sale page for details.
CRIPPS MARLEY WAY GARAGE: Jamie now offers a full bespoke car trimming service. He has trained under world class trimmer Graham Dean and is now able to offer from his Marley Way garage all your car trimming needs from a seat repair to a full interior renewal. All custom made by hand in Leather or vinyl and much better than bought in pre made covers. See the links page for a couple of before and after pictures. Member Jamie Cripps from Marley Way garage in Storrington has really gone to town with the refurbishment of the family run garage premises. As the garage specialises in Classic cars (restoration, servicing and parts) they wanted to give the garage that 40's/50's look (think Heartbeat) and completed the look with a fully liveried mini van (it even has a Sadcase advert on it) and 1940's petrol pump that has been restored by Jamie and now fully working in shell colours.
