SADCASE National Drive it Day Run-23rd of April

The format for the day is a tried and tested formula. The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs sets the date each year and publicises the event nationally. For 2017 SADCASE have secured the superb surroundings of Tangmere Military Aviation Museum as the end destination for the day. The route will be from Whiteways Café to Tangmere. We will meet at Whiteway on Bury Hill at 9.30am and leave at 10.00 for the beautiful 22 mile cross country drive around West Sussex from the Café to Tangmere. The route has now been finalised thanks to the hard work of Harry and Lorraine Sherrard. Drive It Day, starts from Whiteways Café at the top of Bury Hill on the A29 (BN18 9FD).

The drive is approximately 23 miles, and at a leisurely pace will take around 1hr 15min (without stops) to complete. There are several potential stops en route, including a Roman Villa and Goodwood.

SADCASE have prepared an easy to follow road book, with verbal descriptions and photographs of key junctions. The route is a scenic run through the South Downs National Park and interesting villages, and finishes at the historic Tangmere Military Aviation museum, formerly the base of many Battle of Britain heroes and Douglas Bader when he commanded the Tangmere Wing in 1941. We have an area of the car park booked within the main museum car park, with additional parking available on the peritrack used in connection with the former runway. The museum has a café, or you can picnic there. Entry to the museum costs £9.

Suggested meeting time is 9.30 am and departures from Whiteways are from 10 am until about 12 noon. Departures will be spaced out.

To ensure that a roadbook is available, booking is essential. To book a place please email: [email protected] or call 07899 984535.

If you prefer to print off your own road book the please find it attached.
