SADCASE 'The Big One' 26th August 2019

Monday 26th August (Bank holiday Monday) is the date for "THE BIG SHOW". Over 1000 vehicles expected on the day. Again here are the details from the Sadcase website. Members will recall that last year's Storrington Classic Vehicle Show had to be abandoned due to heavy rain, the first there had been of any kind for nearly three months. But every cloud has a silver lining as they say. In this case it came in the form of the owners of the Ford Aerodrome, who offered us the use of their facility to re-stage the event on August Bank Holiday Monday. Putting everything together again in such a short space of time was no mean feet. However, after a herculean effort by the organising team and some very welcome publicity from Classic Car Weekly and others, it all came together with the surprising number of over 600 cars turning up. Such was the success that the owners of Ford have invited SADCASE back to do it all again same time this year, the difference is that on this occasion there is the opportunity for a bit more planning and the (small) team are already hard at work. As well as room for plenty of cars, this year will also see a bigger autojumble/automemorabilia section. Amongst other things, budding mechanics will be able to chance their arms at the “Spark Plug Changing Competition”. None of your fancy ratchet wrenches, just good old fashioned T-bar spark plug sockets. And, if you don't mind the risk of being humiliated by the younger visitors, there will be radio controlled model car racing for everyone to have a go at. This year there will be a wider variety of catering outlets strategically placed around the show ground, so you won't have to return to the pits every time you want to refuel. The show will be open to the public from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The usual safety rules apply with exhibiting car owners asked to be in place by the opening time. Hopefully, you will want to stay to the end but if you need to go before then, it has to be emphasised that you MUST be escorted by a marshal; as well as it being the law, we do not want anyone's day to be spoiled by an accident. SO, THIS IS THE BIG ONE. PLEASE PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY. WE WILL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE AND REMEMBER “IF YOU LOVE IT, SO DO WE”. THIS SHOW IS FREE TO ENTER FOR BOTH THE PUBLIC AND EXHIBITORS BUT A DONATION TO OUR CHOSEN CHARITY WOULD BE APPRECIATED. ALL CARS, CLUBS AND VEHICLES ARE WELCOME SO SPREAD THE WORD. WE EXPECT OVER 1000 VEHICLES ON THE DAY.
