SADCASE 'Drive it Day' 2019
This years drive it day event on 28th April is a trip to the Gospel Green Cyder Company Ltd. On The Blackmoor Estate, near Liss, Hampshire. GU33 6BS. We are gathering at the public car park on Littlehampton’s East beach. The one by The East Beach Cafe (the big rusty restaurant) and next to the children’s playground. Meeting from 09.45 for staggered departure between 10.15 and 10.45. The planned route will be a leisurely hour and a quarter or so of mainly pleasant country roads. I will hand out printed route sheets on the morning. We will arrive at our destination from approx 11.30 with a view to us all being assembled on site by 12 noon. Tea/coffee and cakes will be available on arrival from the local village hall society members in exchange for charity donations. Gospel Green are then giving us a guided tour of their Cyder house and a glass of their special product to sample. This is no carrot cruncher’s scrumpy, but rather, a refined, sparkling, champagne style, celebratory wine-like fizz. Make no mistake. This is stiff competition to Champagne, It is produced and bottled in that style too. The tour will start at 12.15 and last about half an hour. There will be opportunity to purchase bottles/cases at the end of the event even though it is on a Sunday. Prices are from £12.95 a bottle, but a discount of 10% will be offered for anybody wanting a case. The cost per person for the tour and tasting is £6.00 payable on entry to the parking area at Gospel Green. The nature of the destination dictates a strict limit of 50 cars, so please register your intention to attend by e-mailing me on email@example.com It will be first come first served of course. As usual, members wishing to drive the route only, can do so at no cost, but obviously would not be able to enter the car park at the destination due to the limit of 50 cars.
PLEASE NOTE- There is a fee for the East Beach car park. This is £1.50 for an hour. That should cover most peoples short stay there. Those wanting up to 2 hours will need to pay £3.20. It is pay and display. We did start a drive it day from that car park once before in recent years without any issue, members should be aware.
