Alfa Romeo 75
For most petrol heads, Alfa Romeo has a special place in the heart and for April's car of the month we have Rod Darton's Alfa Romeo 75. The Alfa Romeo 75 was launched to celebrate 75 years of Alfa Romeo, and this model was the last to be manufactured by Alfa Romeo in their own Milan factory. It was the last of the bread of truly fantastic rear wheel drive Alfa's.
It is often said my Motor journalists: "You cannot be a true petrol head until you have experienced owning and driving an Alfa Romeo!"
Originally our Alfa Romeo 75 2.0 Twin Spark was purchased by Rod's dad in 1991. He purchased this Alfa Romeo 75 from Alfa Romeo in Chichester. It was an ex demonstrator and Alfa Romeo representative car.. This 75 is now in the ownership of Mark and Rod with Mark regularly loving to borrow her and take her for a good blast. 27 years in the same family ownership, and this Alfa 75 way surpasses all our original expectations. To date this 75 remains free of any Alfa gremlins so often cited. The original 2.0 Twin Spark engine (148BHP) still pulls with verve and omits a symphony of notes that make one smile. The 75 has never been restored and remains in total 100% original condition, including the original Rosso red paintwork, the original Alfa 75 alloys wheels and the original Blaupunkt Radio Cassette player. Only last year were the original prop shaft couplings an original suspension bushes replaced. This Alfa 75 will definitely remain within our family for many years to come, and will continue to pleasure both the driver and passengers. We believe this to be one of the very best examples of the Alfa Romeo 75 Twin Spark in the country, original 46,000 miles on the clock from new which is incredibly low for a 29 years old and with absolutely no sign of any corrosion anywhere. We believe Alfa Romeo manufactured a true gem producing the 75. A 4 door family salon car that can be thoroughly enjoyed and driven with passion.
